A Better Offer...
Since we moved to Colorado, Debbie has wanted to work at The Children's Hospital in Denver. However, they only hired nurses that have Bachelor's degrees in Nursing. Debbie's Bachelor's degree is in Human Development, and her nursing degree is an Associate's degree. So even though she had applied several times, she was never able to get past the initial screening of her application. But that didn't stop me from encouraging her from applying when she told me about jobs that came open that I thought she was qualified for.
A couple of weeks ago she had a frustrating day at work, and when she came home she looked at the available jobs on their website. She found one in the operating room where she works now. So on top of the degrees that she has earned, she also was able to add a couple of years of experience to her resume as well. While one side of her was excited by the possibility of a new job at her dream hospital, she also realized that starting a new job while also starting a new RN to BSN would be very difficult. I think that she was not going to apply, but when she talked to me, I told her that she should apply anyway, and see what happened.
Well everything went great! On Thursday, they made her an offer, and she accepted. It was very hard for her to let her previous employer know, because she had really enjoyed her time there, and would probably not have left for any other hospital except The Children's Hospital. But that's how life works sometimes. When you're not really looking for it, a better opportunity finds you.

Blue Man Group
On Tuesday Night we were able to go to the Blue Man Group. It was very interesting. I would have never picked it, but Matt wanted to go and I ended up enjoying it. We went with my sister, Donna, and her husband, Jeff. It is always a good time to be with them. I have enjoyed living close to them. The night started at dinner. Then ended with the show. If you ever get the chance it is very visually stimulating.

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving this year was a great one. I always love this time of year as we gather with family and think about what we are grateful for. The Salt family came to our house to celebrate. All but Sarah and her family were able to make it, sad!!
The boys spent most of their time like this.
They either were playing video games or watching T.V. The popoular choices were football and Man vs Food. I found the second entertaining, it was like their were preparing for their own man vs food challenge.
Here is what Matt's dad likes to do in his free time.
And it is never a true family vacation with out Andrew stealing my camera to take a picture of himself.
Then some how he roped Natalie in as well. She sure is a sucker.
Here is the table. I am not much of a decorator, and this table is pretty simple, but I think it turned out alright.
Here are the boys peeling the potatoes, it is about the only thing we can get them to do besides eat.
Then Steve an Natalie in the kitchen.
For some reason I didn't get any pictures on me, Barbara, or the food.
The week was filled with together time, shopping, crafts, and food. I am so thankful for my family and the great time that we had together.
